Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Bison vs. Paloma Valley Wildcats

The Liberty Bison will face off against the Paloma Valley Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Liberty is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 12-9 win over Valley View on Thursday.

David Kirk looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Liberty is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luis De La Riva, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jake Feidner was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Paloma Valley sidestepped Poly for a 5-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won five in a row.

Paloma Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Liberty, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
