Football Game Preview: JSerra Catholic Lions vs. Orange Lutheran Lancers + How To Watch

JSerra Catholic and Orange Lutheran are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Lions will be playing at home against the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. JSerra Catholic has given up an average of 36.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

JSerra Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Servite, who was ranked 12th at the time (JSerra Catholic was ranked 20th). The Lions took a hard 43-26 fall against the Friars on Friday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, JSerra Catholic saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Clark Cokley, who picked up 126 receiving yards and three TDs, was perhaps the best of all. Cokley's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gino Wang, who threw for 255 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

JSerra Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rocco Tompkins and Zacarias Nickerson.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Orange Lutheran's offense. They were outmatched by St. John Bosco and fell 48-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Lancers were not able to get on the board.

JSerra Catholic now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Orange Lutheran, they now also have a losing record of 3-4.

JSerra Catholic might still be hurting after the 42-20 loss they got from Orange Lutheran in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 28-0.
