Preview: McDonald County Mustangs vs. Joplin Eagles
McDonald County is 1-9 against Joplin since June of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McDonald County Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Joplin Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Neither McDonald County nor Joplin posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.
McDonald County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 14-0 walloping at the hands of Camdenton.
Meanwhile, Joplin owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They had just enough and edged Hersey out 1-0. The victory was just what Joplin needed coming off of an 11-3 loss in their prior contest.
McDonald County has fallen quite a ways from their 18-7 record last season and are now at 1-5. As for Joplin, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
