Soccer Game Preview: Ayer Shirley vs. Sutton

The Ayer Shirley Panthers will square off against the Sutton Sammies/Suzies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ayer Shirley's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Thursday. Ayer Shirley fell just short of Quabbin Regional by a score of 1-0. The loss was Ayer Shirley's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Sutton entered their tilt with Hopedale on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Blue Raiders by a score of 3-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Sutton's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Hopedale are ranked 113th).

Sutton's victory bumped their record up to 14-1-1. As for Ayer Shirley, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 14-1-1.
