After a string of eight wins, Triangle Math & Science's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the NCSSM: Durham Unicorns by a score of 3-2. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Unicorns earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Triangle Math & Science actually scored more points across those five sets (110-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 29-27, 15-25, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Triangle Math & Science lost, don't look at Shankara Dhamodaran. Despite the final result, he had 22 digs and two aces. Dhamodaran is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Triangle Math & Science's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for NCSSM: Durham, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Triangle Math & Science didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Eno River Academy on the 5th.
