Volleyball Recap: Temple Gets the Win

After losing to Coosa the last time they met, Temple decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Eagles since October 14, 2020.

Temple was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Whitley Sharpe, who had 20 digs, nine kills, and three aces. Sharpe is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava King, who had 19 digs and four aces.

Temple's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 13-21. As for Coosa, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-18.

Temple wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Pepperell on the 4th. As for Coosa, they will face off against Cedar Bluff at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
