Maloney and Middletown are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Spartans will challenge the Blue Dragons at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Middletown took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Maloney, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Maloney beat Platt 7-3.

Meanwhile, Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against Berlin, falling 11-1.

Middletown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Harvey, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Maloney has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-21.

Everything went Maloney's way against Middletown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Maloney made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
