Baseball Recap: Paramus Catholic Victorious

Paramus Catholic hadn't done well against St. Joseph Regional recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Knght Paladins came out on top against the Green Knights by a score of 10-6. This was a revenge game for the Knght Paladins: when they faced off against the Green Knights on Monday, they had to take a 5-2 loss.

Jeremiah Diaz looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anthony DeLeon, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Chris Arias also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Paramus Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Paramus Catholic's record is now 10-8. As for St. Joseph Regional, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 19-5 record.

Paramus Catholic will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Don Bosco Prep at 4:15 p.m. on May 12. As for St. Joseph Regional, they will square off against St. Dominic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Green Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bayhawks have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
