Wauconda hasn't had much luck against Antioch recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will host the Sequoits at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Antioch will be up against a hot Wauconda team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. Everything went the Bulldogs' way against Grayslake Central on Friday as they made off with a 53-27 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Rams are ranked 273rd).
Cole Korycanek was his usual excellent self, rushing for 87 yards and one score on only nine carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wauconda was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 224 rushing yards in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Wauconda lost to Antioch at home by a decisive 38-24 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Martin Cohen (who rushed for 219 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries, and also threw for five yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
