Baseball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-3 to the New Diana Eagles. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for New Diana, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Marshall will take on Central Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Heights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Marshall's hitters will have their work cut out for them. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
