Basketball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 51-26 to the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.

Despite the loss, Meridian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jayton Jones went 6-for-10 on his way to 14 points and seven boards.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-13 record.

Meridian has already played their next matchup, a 52-29 loss against Silver Lake on the 25th. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-43 defeat against McCool Junction on the 25th.
