Basketball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westside can now relate to. They came up short against the Baker County Wildcats on Monday, falling 52-29. The Wolverines' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it 13 in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Baker County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalia Strachan, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Strachan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season. Makai'Lah Williams was another key player, going 6 for 12 en route to 15 points along with six boards and four steals.

Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Baker County, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.

Westside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Baker County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-20 loss against Bishop Kenny on the 4th.
