Mayfield and Galway are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Panthers will welcome the Golden Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mayfield barely beat Canajoharie the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Cougars on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won eight in a row.

Kaylee Klymkow was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Klymkow was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on October Herting, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jamie Danforth, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Galway, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Sunday. They put the hurt on Fonda-Fultonville with a sharp 12-4 victory on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Eagles considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Galway pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.2 runs this season. As for Mayfield, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
