Softball Recap: Hidalgo Takes a Loss

Hidalgo was the 12-2 winner over Grulla when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hidalgo Pirates lost 12-2 to the Grulla Gators on Tuesday. The loss leaves the Pirates still looking for their first win of the season.

Hidalgo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Martha Alvarez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Cassandra Prishker was another, scoring a run and stealing Two bases.

Hidalgo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Grulla, with the victory, they broke their 17-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-7.

Coincidentally, Hidalgo and Grulla will both be playing La Feria the next time they take the field. Hidalgo will head out to face La Feria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Grulla will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
