Softball Game Preview: Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars vs. Shorecrest Prep Chargers

The Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars will challenge the Shorecrest Prep Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shorecrest Prep took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Academy of the Holy Names, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Academy of the Holy Names turned things around against Berkeley Prep on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Buccaneers by a score of 4-1.

The team relied heavily on Faith DeRing, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Shorecrest Prep came up short against Seminole on Wednesday, falling 13-3.

Shorecrest Prep saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Conroy, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Shorecrest Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Academy of the Holy Names, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 7-9.

Academy of the Holy Names took their victory against Shorecrest Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
