MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: No. 1 St. John Bosco closes regular season against No. 12 Mater Dei

No. 14 St. Thomas Aquinas hosts No. 17 Chaminade-Madonna in only other MaxPreps Top 25 matchup.

St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) vs. Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) has been the best rivalry in high school football over the last decade. The Trinity League powers will renew acquaintances Friday night with a lot on the line for both programs.

Bosco is seeking its first unbeaten regular season since 2018. The top-ranked Braves have won their first nine games by an average margin of 35.5 points per game. 

Since 2015, Mater Dei holds an 11-8 edge in the series including two victories during the 2024 season. 

The only other MaxPreps Top 25 matchup takes place in Florida as No. 14 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) hosts No. 17 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood) in the MaxPreps Game of the Week. Watch it for free at 7 p.m. ET on the MaxPreps YouTube channel. 



Aquinas vs. Chaminade-Madonna will feature 65 players with at least one FBS or FCS offer. 

No. 9 Edna Karr (New Orleans) faces one of its toughest challenges with a big road test at John Curtis Christian (River Ridge) in a matchup of two undefeated Louisiana teams. The Cougars have outscored their first eight opponents 358-66. 

No. 13 Carrollton (Ga.) closes out the regular season with a home contest against a talented Douglas County (Douglasville, Ga.) squad. The winner claims the AAAAAA Region 2 title. 

No. 2 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) and No. 4 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) are the only two MaxPreps Top 25 teams that play Saturday. The Panthers face undefeated The St. James Performance Academy (Springfield, Va.) and the Ascenders host Hun (Princeton, N.J.).
