Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Hebron's 11th in Last 13 Outings

Hebron won the last time they faced Coppell and things went their way on Friday too. Hebron came out on top against Coppell by a score of 7-2.

Kate Buesing spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Liz Cardona, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Lilly Pirrello was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hebron is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Coppell is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hebron is set to take on their familiar foe Marcus at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
