Baseball Recap: Jordan-Matthews Falls to Eastern Randolph in First Game of Season

Jordan-Matthews unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 16-1 to the Eastern Randolph Wildcats on Monday. The Jets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Jordan-Matthews saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Bowden, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Looking ahead, Jordan-Matthews is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against Granville Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Randolph, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against North Rowan at 6:00 p.m.
