Basketball Recap: Strasburg Drops Season-High Score on Sterling

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Strasburg). They enjoyed a cozy 60-46 victory over the Sterling Tigers on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on three straight.

Strasburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Damron out in front who went 6 for 9 on her way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Damron is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peighton Marrero, who went 8 for 16 on her way to 18 points and six assists.

Strasburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Strasburg now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sterling, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

After both having extra time off, Strasburg and St. Mary's Academy will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Sterling, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sidney on January 7, 2025.
