Basketball Recap: Patrick County Comes Up Short

Patrick County was the 56-51 winner over Floyd County when they last played one another back in January of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buffaloes on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Patrick County still got an impressive performance from Chloe Hubbard, who posted seven points along with five rebounds and three steals. The Cougars are 4-1 when Hubbard posts three or more steals, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Martina Hubbard, who put up nine points.

Patrick County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Floyd County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Patrick County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-53 defeat against Radford on the 9th. Floyd County has also already played their next contest (against Martinsville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
