Volleyball Recap: Platte County Takes a Loss

Platte County lost against St. Michael the Archangel back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pirates came up short against the Guardians, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pirates have suffered since November 6, 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-10.

Kate Brunner paced Platte County's offense, picking up five kills. Brunner got some help from Carissa Bacon and her seven assists. Bacon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Platte County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8-2. As for St. Michael the Archangel, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platte County will venture away from home to square off against Ruskin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Michael the Archangel, they will take on Blue Valley West in a tournament on Saturday.
