Basketball Recap: Hampton Prep Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, Hampton Prep might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the South Hills Scorpions an easy 27-5 win. The match marked Hampton Prep's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Hampton Prep and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for South Hills, their victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampton Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Summit International Prep on January 3, 2025. Hampton Prep's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Summit International Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for South Hills, they will be home for the holidays to greet Trimble Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
