Baseball Recap: Thompson Valley Takes a Loss

If Thompson Valley was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Wellington last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Thompson Valley took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sterling Tigers on Tuesday.

Beau Heaton and Evan Raabe did some serious damage despite the final result: Heaton scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Raabe went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Raabe hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, Thompson Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sterling struck out eight times.

Thompson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Thompson Valley has already played their next matchup, a 7-4 win against Berthoud on the 27th. As for Sterling, they will square off against Silver Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
