Recap: Wagner Red Raiders vs. O'Neill Eagles
Even though the Wagner Red Raiders have not done well against the O'Neill Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Wagner managed a 63-57 win over O'Neill. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, O'Neill still got an impressive performance from Drew Morrow, who scored 19 points along with seven steals. Morrow has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Alder, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Wagner now has a winning record of 5-4. As for O'Neill, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wagner will square off against Burke at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Burke is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for O'Neill, they will head out on the road to square off against Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
