Kamiakin had won four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 3-1 to make it five. They blew past the Hermiston Bulldogs, posting a 49-14 win. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 163rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

As for Hermiston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4. They have struggled against Kamiakin recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Hermiston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden Medelez rushed for 54 yards and two scores, and also threw for 115 yards on 16 of 27 attempts. Medelez got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 52 yards.

Coincidentally, Kamiakin and Hermiston will both be playing Hanford the next time they take the field. The Braves will head out to face the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th.
