Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Comes Up Short

Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Horizon Science Academy Hawks , falling 70-31. The Cougar were probably out for revenge after losing 83-42 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Cristo Rey still got an impressive performance from Nate Getahun, who posted 15 points. That was a full 48.4% of Cristo Rey's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Hargrove, who scored seven points.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Horizon Science Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey will head out to face off against Mohican Young Star Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Horizon Science Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on KIPP Columbus at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
