Softball Recap: Westridge Tigers vs. Rio Hondo Prep Kares
Westridge had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 0-2 to make it 11. They lost 28-0 to the Rio Hondo Prep Kares. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Kares from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
As for Rio Hondo Prep, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs this season.
For Rio Hondo Prep's part, they got a massive performance out of RYEN COVEY, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs COVEY has posted since back in April of 2025. MADISON BURL was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Looking ahead, Westridge will be playing at home against Brentwood School at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they will welcome Arroyo at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
