Baseball Recap: Junipero Serra Beats Los Gatos for Their Fifth Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Junipero Serra rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Los Gatos Wildcats by a score of 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Padres sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The result came thanks to Nate Hui's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyler Harrison was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Junipero Serra's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Los Gatos, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-6.

Looking ahead, Junipero Serra will square off against De La Salle at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Padres 2.6, the Spartans 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Los Gatos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
