Football Game Preview: Barrington Fillies/Broncos vs. Conant Cougars

Barrington is 8-2 against Conant since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Fillies/Broncos will venture away from home to challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Barrington will be strutting in after a victory while Conant will be coming in after a loss.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Barrington and Palatine, and Barrington kept the tradition alive. The Fillies/Broncos blew past the Pirates 42-21 on Saturday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Fillies/Broncos just coasted through the last quarter.

Barrington relied on the efforts of Luke Tepas, who rushed for 80 yards and three scores on only nine carries, and Lamar Osterhues, who rushed for 134 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Those 80 rushing yards gave Tepas a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Conant played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 42-7 defeat at the hands of Fremd. The Cougars have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Barrington's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Conant, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Barrington against Conant when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 55-7 victory. In that matchup, the Fillies/Broncos amassed a halftime lead of 41-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
