Football Recap: Newport Falls Despite Big Games from James Worley and Andre Cato + How To Watch

Newport came into this matchup off a tough 49-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the North Marion Huskies by a score of 24-21 on Friday. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Cubs couldn't quite close it out.

Andre Cato and James Worley certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Cato rushed for 184 yards and a pair of scores, while Worley rushed for 49 yards and one TD.

This is the second loss in a row for Newport and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for North Marion, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Newport and North Marion will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cubs are set to challenge their familiar foe Dayton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Marion will square off against rival Banks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
