Basketball Recap: Quitman Comes Up Short

Quitman lost against Morton back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Quitman Panthers took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Morton Panthers.

Despite the defeat, Quitman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore JAHYLA DUBOSE went 8 for 15 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. The game was DUBOSE's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of AIYANNA DEAR, who posted ten points.

Quitman's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Morton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Quitman nor Morton have any future games scheduled.
