Basketball Recap: Florence Takes a Loss

If Florence was feeling good fresh off their 51-22 takedown of Custer County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Florence Huskies were beaten by the Ellicott Thunderhawks 54-21 on Thursday. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-9.

Florence lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Claire Bosley, who posted four points and seven boards. What's more, she also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024.

Florence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Ellicott, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Florence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-21 loss against The Vanguard School on the 15th. As for Ellicott, they have also already played their next game, a 59-33 defeat against Colorado Springs Christian on the 15th.
