Basketball Recap: Ringgold Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Bryce Harris and Taylor Pierce

Ringgold and Franklin County squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Ringgold had to settle for second. They lost 85-62 to the Franklin County Lions. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (57), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Ringgold's loss came despite strong showings from Taylor Pierce and Bryce Harris. Pierce on his way to 20 points and five boards, while Harris dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Ringgold is 3-1 when Harris posts ten or more boards, but 10-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Bender, who posted nine points.

Even though they lost, Ringgold was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Ringgold's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Franklin County, the win got them back to even at 14-14.

Ringgold does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-54 victory against Salem on the 22nd.
