Softball Recap: L'anse Creuse Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Port Huron Northern, L'Anse Creuse was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Marine City Mariners by a score of 14-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lancers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

L'Anse Creuse let Alyssa Strohl and Kaylene Wirick run wild. Strohl went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Wirick went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Strohl a new career-high. Anne Matheson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

L'Anse Creuse's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Marine City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. L'Anse Creuse will venture away from home to square off against Lakeview at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marine City, they will head out to face off against St. Clair at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
