            Basketball Recap: Mackinac Island Lakers vs. Big Bay de Noc Black Bears        
        
		
        
        
            If Mackinac Island was riding high  fresh off their  45-25 takedown of Mid Peninsula back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mackinac Island Lakers took a  blow against the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears on Friday, falling  66-31. The Lakers haven't had much luck with the Black Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Mackinac Island lost, don't look at  Madison Gamble. Despite the final result, she  dropped  a double-double on 22 points and 19  rebounds. The dominant performance gave  Gamble a new career-high in  boards.  Madison Morse was another key player,  putting up four  points.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Big Bay de Noc beat Mackinac Island by a score of  89-37 on Saturday.
