Millikan had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Moorpark Musketeers on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Lauren Cantwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Addy Everrett and Hailey Fematt did most of the damage at the plate: Everrett went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Fematt went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Fematt has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Owen, who got three hits from her three at bats.
Millikan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moorpark only posted a batting average of .125.
Millikan's win bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Moorpark, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-6.
Millikan has already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against Ganesha on the 17th. Moorpark does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
