Softball Recap: Taos Tigers vs. Grants Pirates

Taos proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Grants Pirates out 12-10. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.

Celina Shropshire was incredible, going 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Flores, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI.

On Grants' side, Aubrhyanna Garcia stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Annora Graham, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Even though they lost, Grants lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Taos' victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Grants, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
