Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Mansfield vs. Colchester

The Mt. Mansfield Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Colchester Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Mansfield's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mt. Mansfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Champlain Valley Union, who was ranked fourth at the time (Mt. Mansfield was ranked 13th). The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Redhawks 2-1.

Meanwhile, Colchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Essex, falling 8-0.

Colchester's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Mt. Mansfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6-1 record this season.
