Basketball Recap: Apollo Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Apollo Hawks were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to the West Point Dragons. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Apollo's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Murryah Crump, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Serenity Thomas, who posted ten points.

Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for West Point, they pushed their record up to 7-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Apollo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-25 victory against Tolleson on the 23rd. As for West Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-6 defeat against Valley Vista on the 22nd.
