Basketball Recap: Naples Piles Up the Points Against Riverdale

It's playoff time, and Naples had no trouble coming through when it counted. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Riverdale Raiders 70-6. With the Golden Eagles ahead 51-5 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Lizie Froloff had an outrageously good game as she went 12 for 16 en route to 28 points and three steals. Those 28 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Jude, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.

Naples smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Naples' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-15. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 46 points. As for Riverdale, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Naples didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-36 win against South Fort Myers on the 6th. Riverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
