Eagleville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They strolled past McEwen with points to spare, taking the game 42-28. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Eagleville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Benton Fox led the charge by rushing for 22 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 86 yards and one touchdown while completing 77.8% of his passes. Another back making a difference was Jonathan Jordan, who rushed for 93 yards and one score.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Eagleville proved: they limited McEwen to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The Eagles are 5-1 when they shut down the run game so well.

Meanwhile, Middle College entered their tilt with Humboldt on Friday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-8 victory over the Vikings. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Vikings are ranked 259th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eagleville's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Middle College, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
