Basketball Recap: Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 34-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plaza Heights Christian Academy. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Plaza Heights Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Leading Plaza Heights Christian Academy to victory were Reece Cornine and Ava Collier. Cornine posted 14 points and six steals, while Collier dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Collier continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will welcome St. Paul Lutheran at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Bethel Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
