After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clay, Bradford was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Eastside Rams 14-2. Considering the Tornadoes have won six matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Bradford got a great performance from Kolee Lemire as she struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave Lemire a new career-high.
At the plate, Regan Adams was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kingslee Phillips, who scored two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Bradford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The victory got Bradford back to even at 8-8. As for Eastside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13-2 record this season.
Bradford will challenge P.K. Yonge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Wave have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.19 runs per game on average), something the Tornadoes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eastside, they will take on Newberry at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
