Soccer Game Preview: Fountain Valley vs. Edison

Fountain Valley is 0-9-1 against Edison since February of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Fountain Valley Barons will face off against the Edison Chargers at 5:00 p.m. Fountain Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Last Wednesday, Fountain Valley beat Huntington Beach 4-2.

Meanwhile, Edison kept a clean sheet against Newport Harbor on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Sailors. Considering the Chargers have won three contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Edison pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three games. As for Fountain Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Fountain Valley might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Edison when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Fountain Valley was down 4-1.
