Basketball Recap: South Miami Comes Up Short

South Miami was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 31-10 to the Coral Park Rams. The Cobras were probably out for revenge after losing 48-26 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Coral Park found their leader in sophomore Greisy Perdomo, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. Perdomo is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least six every time she's taken the court this season. Luna Blay was another key player, putting up four points and five steals.

South Miami's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Coral Park, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

South Miami wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-6 victory against Miami Springs on the 6th. As for Coral Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-24 win against Reagan on the 6th.
