Volleyball Recap: Franklin Community Beats Purdue Polytechnic for Their Fourth Straight Win

Franklin Community waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Purdue Polytechnic Techies. That's more bragging rights for the Grizzly Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Franklin Community took both sets by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11.

Leading Franklin Community to victory were Maddie Turnipseed and Nila Netter. Turnipseed had six aces, while Netter had five aces. Those five aces gave Netter a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Franklin Community was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive games.

Franklin Community's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Purdue Polytechnic, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-7 record.
