Preview: Hurricane Redskins vs. Spring Valley Timberwolves
After four games on the road, Hurricane is heading back home. They will take on the Spring Valley Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hurricane will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Spring Valley is ranked ninth).
Hurricane struggled with threes on Monday (Ravenswood had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Hurricane was the victim of a tough 64-42 defeat at the hands of Ravenswood.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Alexandra Anderson and Hadleigh McGoskey. McGoskey had a great game and scored 31 points. Meanwhile, Anderson did her best for the losing side, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Hurricane smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, even though Parkersburg scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Spring Valley still came out on top. Spring Valley secured a 66-60 W over Parkersburg. The victory was just what Spring Valley needed coming off of a 60-29 loss in their prior game.
Hurricane has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Spring Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
