Basketball Recap: Putnam County Comes Up Short

Putnam County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Woodland Warriors, falling 72-48. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-46 two weeks ago.

Putnam County's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Woodland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Putnam County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kewanee at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Woodland, they will challenge Midland at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Woodland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
