The Cary Imps are taking a road trip to face off against the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
On Thursday, Cary came up short against Middle Creek and fell 8-3.
Cary got a good showing from Logan Joyce, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Joyce has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cary saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skylan Joyner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave Joyner a new career-high. Another was Owen Green, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Pride 13-2. Considering the Crusaders have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Max Boyatt tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since March 4th.
At the plate, Jakub Mudd was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Bryce Fitzsimmons was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Cardinal Gibbons kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leesville Road only managed eight hits.
Cary has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. Cardinal Gibbons' record is now 10-5.
Cary might still be hurting after the 11-5 loss they got from Cardinal Gibbons in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Cary avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
