Baseball Game Preview: Garces Memorial Rams vs. Ridgeview Wolf Pack

The Garces Memorial Rams will square off against the Ridgeview Wolf Pack at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Garces Memorial will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

While Garces Memorial didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Highland on Friday, sneaking past 3-2.

The team relied heavily on Dominic Banducci, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ridgeview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Arvin 13-2 on Wednesday. The Wolf Pack have beaten the Bears the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bears has come to flipping the script.

Joel Gutierrez and Mason Refuerzo did most of the damage at the plate: Gutierrez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Refuerzo scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most RBI Gutierrez has posted since back in March of 2024. Alex Trujillo also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Ridgeview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Garces Memorial pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for Ridgeview, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
